Job Description
The ideal candidate for a Capital Equipment Maintenance Specialist would be able to do the following:
Preventative & Predictive Maintenance
- Maintain, enhance, and continuously improve PM programs for all production equipment (press brakes, lasers, punch presses, robotic welders, etc.).
- Manage equipment files, manuals, maintenance procedures, parts ordering, parts storage, and inventory at lead-person level.
- Interface with external vendors; understand service contracts and OEM responsibilities.
Troubleshooting & Repair
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment with mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic controls to maximize capital equipment uptime.
- Diagnose root cause of failures using structured problem-solving methods (e.g., 8D); return equipment to OEM condition in a timely manner.
- Install, repair, rebuild, and maintain machinery, small tools, and mechanical equipment used in production and related services.
Project & Engineering Support
- Partner with Manufacturing Engineering on new equipment installations, equipment moves, upgrades, and project work requiring maintenance expertise.
- Assist with capital project planning, providing hands-on technical input during commissioning and startup.
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete and maintain all required maintenance logs, PM records, and related files to lead-person documentation standards.
- Strictly adhere to all company and departmental safety policies and OSHA/MSD requirements.
- Ensure safe working conditions and good housekeeping standards are upheld at all times.
