    Job Description

    The Personal Lines Underwriting Training & Audit Manager is responsible for establishing and executing on Personal Lines underwriting governance protocols.  This includes but is not limited to the development and conducting of Personal lines underwriting audits, the execution of underwriting file self-reviews, and the education and development program of the Personal Lines Underwriting organization.  This position advocates for a culture of continuous staff development, ground-up training, promoting from within the organization and superior Personal Lines Underwriting and Auditing services in close collaboration with Personal Lines Underwriting leadership. This position is responsible for administering an Underwriting Audit Program that supports compliance, continuous technical excellence and customer service. In addition, this position is responsible for providing Personal Lines underwriting training and support for the PL Service department.

     

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    · Creates and administers an Underwriting Personal Lines program for the education and development of the Personal Lines Underwriting staff.

    · Creates a Resource for Internal and External continuing Education and Development offerings and opportunities for Personal Lines

    · Creates a Training Program for entry-level and mid-level Personal Lines Underwriters

    · Assists in or resolves complaints or disputes in conjunction with Underwriting leadership, that escalate from internal or external stakeholders, including existing policyholders, the business community and governmental agencies, to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.

    · Represents Personal Lines Underwriting and delivers specially designed training to Underwriters, PL Service Representative and agents, as requested.

    · Creates and administers the Personal Lines Underwriting Audit Program

    · Works with Personal Lines Underwiring Leadership to establish Personal Lines Underwriting processes and best practices

    · Identifies focus and targeted training in response to Personal Lines Audit results, Complaint handling, regulatory body audits and to Underwriting leadership requests.

    · Promotes and advocates business unit goals and objectives, ensuring alignment with broader Underwriting functional goals.

    · May manage analyst(s) to support audit function and processes

     

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree and 7 or more years of personal lines multi-discipline Underwriting handling experience; or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience

    • Must have 5 years proven ability in a management/leadership role

    • Strong communications skills both written and verbal

    • An ability to quickly learn and apply acquired knowledge essential to the position

    • Ability to travel occasionally as needed

    • CPCU preferred
