Materials Lab Shop Technician
Capital Testing is hiring! Since 1954, Capital Testing has serviced the building products and transportation products industries as a third-party certification agency, inspection agency, and test laboratory. We're looking for candidates with a flexible schedule that enjoy working with their hands, and have experience using power tools. Primary Job Responsibilities: -Receive, document, and dispose of testing materials -Prepare building materials for testing according to manufacturer and test method specifications -Upkeep shop equipment according to maintenance schedules -Operate saws, pneumatic air tools, and other power tools to prepare specimens -Operate forklift and hand trucks to assist in receiving and materials handling -Maintain a clean, safe working environment Requirements: -General construction/carpentry knowledge and experience using power tools -High school diploma or GED -Pursuit of a Bachelors or Associates Degree in technical field, related work, or construction experience preferred -Attention to detail and basic mechanical aptitude -Operate shop equipment -Follow directions and standard operating procedures -Strong communication skills and legible handwriting -Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds -Valid driver's license and a clean driving record -Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen Compensation: $18/hour, 10-20 hours per week Thank you for your interest, and please visit our website at www.capitaltesting.org for more information on who we are and what we do.
