Job Description:
Seeking a highly energetic self-starter for the role of Assistant General Counsel for a Bethesda-based, private investment firm with diversified investments in commercial real estate, entertainment, and asset management. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to work across industry segments, take on a variety of projects and roles, and grow with the company. The Assistant General Counsel will report to the General Counsel.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in the negotiation and drafting of commercial contracts
Assist with corporate compliance and governance matters
Assist in managing the day-to-day legal needs of the organization
Analyze, develop and structure new investment opportunities
Requirements:
· Minimum 2 years of experience, in-house or law firm
· Strong interpersonal skills; proactive communicator; positive attitude; and team player
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize responsibilities
· Excellent research, writing and negotiating skills
· Extremely detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
· A hands-on, whatever it takes approach to solving problems and project management
· Desire to contribute to company growth and development outside of legal work
· Juris Doctorate from top US law school
· Admitted to practice in the District of Columbia; admission to Maryland, a plus, but not required
