    Capstone Fire Management is seeking experienced and motivated, firefighters to join our Capstone Team. We are looking for team-oriented firefighters who posses outstanding leadership and communication skills. The perfect candidate makes good decisions based on our established operational policies, procedures, and practices. They can be trusted to make sound decisions and/or exercise good judgement on behalf of the Capstone Fire & Safety Management organization. We work with commercial, utility, and industrial customers during their critical infrastructure projects, outages, shut downs, and emergency call out situations across the Western and Central Regions of the United States.

    Position Summary:

    The firefighter responsibility is for firefighting, fire prevention and other fire services.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    Responds to fires with their company in a timely, safe and skilled manner, and participates in control of fires through hose and nozzle work, use of hand tools or a combination of these methods. Quickly follows established Company procedures when responding to emergencies as well as instructions given at the emergency scene. Correctly and promptly uses all relevant apparatus, tools, and equipment. Remains calm and poised in all emergency situations and gains rapid control over the problem at hand.

    Administers first aid to injured parties at their appropriate level of training. Quickly analyzes situations where life safety is threatened and applies the correct treatment.

    Conducts fuels reduction projects as directed by the supervisor on the project. Maintains a positive attitude and strives to meet the client’s needs.

    Safely operates Company vehicles, and equipment as directed.

    Assists in the maintenance of fire and rescue apparatus, tools, and equipment keeping such apparatus, tools, and equipment in good operating and safe condition by competently and efficiently performing maintenance and testing tasks.

    Remains skilled in modern fire suppression tactics, methods through training drills,

    Keeps the company base and related grounds, facilities, and supplies in a clean, orderly and useable condition.

    Performs routine non-firefighting work tasks willingly and adequately such as working on Company records, time cards and other related paperwork.

    Functions satisfactorily as a team member of a fire company at any emergency or non-emergency scene, and willingly accepts their share of the work required.

    Able to meet the physical requirements required to perform firefighting tasks. Remains skilled in and properly applies modern fire suppression tactics, methods, and procedures.

    Projects a positive image to the client as a fire service professional.

    Supports the Capstone Way and works effectively in following policies and procedures.

    Education and Experience:Requirement A

    Valid Driver’s License

    Valid Medical Examiner’s Card

    Clean Driver’s Record

    High School Diploma or GED

    Requirement B:

    CPR with AED

    EMT

    Physical Fitness (Initial Hire and Annually)

    Work Capacity Test - Arduous Level (Pack Test)

    Pass full DOT physical: bending, pushing, pulling, crouching, and vision

    Firefighter 1- Wildland Division

    Minimum Qualifications:

    18 years old

    Minimum Training Requirements:

    Certificate of completion for a Firefighter 1 Academy OR

    NWCG FFT2 (S-130, S-190, I-100, L-180) OR

    Meets Requirements for NFPA 1001 OR

    Military Fire Fighter Equivalent

    Firefighter 2- Wildland Division

    Minimum Qualifications:

    19 years old

    1 year part time experience with a recognized all risk Volunteer Fire Department/(Minimum of 25 shifts) OR

    Six Months full time experience with a professional department

    Minimum Training Requirements:

    Certificate of completion for a Firefighter 1 Academy, OR

    State FF1 certification/ Volunteer FF Certification, OR

    NWCG FFT2 (S-130, S-190, I-100, L-180), OR

    Meets Requirements for NFPA 1001, OR

    Military Fire Fighter Equivalent

    COMPUTER SKILLS: Advanced computer software application (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and Internet navigational skills. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

    This is a full-time/seasonal position.

    Travel:

    This position requires routine visits to personnel at various locations and sites. Overnight travel is rare.

    Work Environment:

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    Please note that acceptance of this position will require the following:

    THE ACADEMY:

    A mandatory assessment and training period where Capstone Fire Management, Inc. has an opportunity, based on performance and completion of exams, to determine if candidates meet qualifications to be hired.

    The Academy will be scheduled from: July 21st through July 25th, 2020

    The Academy location: (TBD)

    Those attending the Academy will be paid at the Capstone Training wage rate of $13.00 per hour. Which will be paid on our normal pay cycle of the 10th or 25th of each month.

    If a candidate does not complete the program and is cut, at any point, they will be paid in full at that time.

    Please be advised all candidates MUST attend the Academy in full, failure to do so will result in disqualification of the hiring process.

    IT IS POSSIBLE TO HAVE APPLIED FOR ONE POSITION AND RECEIVE AN OFFER LETTER FOR A DIFFERENT POSITION DUE TO THE ASSESSMENTS OF THE ACADEMY. (If that situations occurs the candidate will have an opportunity to discuss the scenarios with the Division Chief(s) and determine whether they accept or reject the offer).

    Additional notes for the Academy:

    Classroom wear: Class B uniform or, blue dickies and a white T-Shirt, and wildland lug-soled boots. For confined space rescue, hard-toed boots are required. All other PPE will be provided.

    Please bring a sack lunch for each day of the Academy.

    Travel and accommodations will be provided by CFMI for candidates who are in other States and/or live in areas that are greater than 2 hours to the academy.

    TRAINING AFTER THE ACADEMY: After successful competition of the academy candidates may be assigned to participate in:

    1- to 2-week Driver Operator course, DO 1A and/or 1B.

    OR, a 1-week, Confined Space Rescue Technician course.

    Both trainings are covered by CFMI and attendees are paid Capstone Training wages of $13 an hour.

    Training is subject to change and new hires attendance are based on factors such as business need, job demands, etc.

    JOB ASSIGNMENT:

    The estimated start time for work is normally right after trainings.

    Assignments are seasonal, part time to full time, and expected to last until the end of the fire season. Typically, around November of the year; however, some could be extended to December or shortened to October.

    Shifts can range from, 24 hours a day, to 8 hours a day, Sunday through Saturday as assigned.

    There are no relocation funds assigned to these projects. New hires should be local, and will be responsible for traveling or commuting, to be available at the job sites and/or establish their own permanent residence, if they accept this offer.

    COMPENSATION:

    If a candidate successfully completes the program, they will receive a job offer with their pay rate and position. THIS PAY RATE IS PAID AFTER THE ACADEMY & TRAINING. Our pay rate ranges, in general, are as follows, depending on qualifications and/or training:

    Firefighter - $13.00-$15.00

    All personnel will be paid outside of training wages, per the classification worked (firefighter, rescue tech, driver operator, Industrial Fire Brigade (IFB), etc.)

    Specific details about your job assignment and pay rate will be discussed in the Academy.
