    Job Description: Consultant – Forensic Accounting and Litigation Support

    _ Overview_

    The Consultant position is a full-time consulting staff position. The Consultant works on financial analysis and business valuation projects, primarily in litigated disputes. You will work on a variety of forensic accounting, litigation support, and valuation engagements. You will be involved in the development of cases from start to finish; tasks include data analysis, reading depositions and contracts, drafting reports and exhibits, and quality control. You will be part of a small team with constant collaboration and peer support from highly capable people like yourself and continuous contact with more experienced professionals. Speaking up, asking questions and challenging apparent solutions are strongly encouraged.

    We seek a highly motivated individual with strong Microsoft Excel skills, quantitative analysis capabilities, problem solving abilities, and written communication skills. Attention to detail is a must. Candidates for this position should have an interest in continuing to learn and develop their skills, and a desire to grow and advance in their career. While a formal accounting background may be helpful in this position, it is not required.

    _ Job Responsibilities_

    • Develop and work with spreadsheets, electronic databases, and other files as dictated by case needs
    • Perform actionable research for use in analyses (gather, review, and summarize research for the intended use)
    • Assist in the analysis of financial statements, general ledgers, tax returns, and other financial documents to achieve the stated objectives of the project
    • Assist in the preparation of expert witness reports through supporting analyses, report drafting, and work paper preparation
    • Analyze historical and projected financial information and develop financial and damage models, including discounted cash flows
    • Organize and maintain case documents and folders, create electronic libraries for documents, and retrieve documents as necessary
    • Review and synthesize documents (including produced documents such as purchase orders, invoices, contracts, emails; financial statements; spreadsheets; depositions; and others), and create work product suitable for clients
    • Perform quality control of calculations, analyses and reports
    • Participate and contribute in meetings, both internally and externally
    • Play a key part in meeting deadlines and achieving quality expectations
    • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and attention to detail
    • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Audit your own work product and work product of others
    • Demonstrate creativity in analyzing and solving problems

    _ Qualifications_

    • 2+ years of prior relevant work experience preferred.
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
    • Strong analytical skills and proven ability with Microsoft Excel
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously
    • Progress toward relevant credentials is preferred
    • Located in Houston, TX preferred but not required
    • Must currently be legally authorized to work in the United States
