QA Software Tester/Analyst (Remote "Work from Home" Opportunity)
Job Description
Primary Purpose: Verify software by planning, executing, and documenting functional, regression, and performance tests. THIS IS A REMOTE "WORK FROM HOME" OPPOTUNITY
MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify software capability and reliability by conducting functional, system, regression, and performance tests
Write test plans and test cases based on software requirements
Determine test objectives by reviewing software requirements
Set up and maintain test environment including test data and equipment
Meet test objectives by determining testing methods, cycles, phases, and conditions
Execute the test plan
Enforce and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations
Communicate and work well with team members
Determine if issues found are problems with the test itself and if so, resolve testing problems by correcting the test case
Document and report test outcomes by collecting, analyzing, interpreting, summarizing, and displaying data to team members
Recommend software changes as issues are found
Confer with management to revise test objectives and standards based on results from testing
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related efforts as needed
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
Defect management
Lead project testing resources culminating in a successful release
Train quality assurance team on testing procedures
Write training documentation and work with other teams to train them on new application changes as well as changes to existing applications.
Work with QA Automation team to hand off test cases that need to be automated
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent software testing/debugging experience
· ASTQB Advanced Tester certification or equivalent
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
· 7+ years software testing experience
· Experience testing in a Client/Server environment
· Attention to detail
· Knowledge of software quality assurance process
· Knowledge of software development standards
· Black Box and White Box testing experience
· Good communication skills
· Proactive team player
· Ability to document and report results
· Automated testing
· Mobile App testing
· Leadership of project testing resources
· Process improvement
· Software debugging experience
· Databases and web architectures
· Basic knowledge of programming
NON-ESSENTIAL BUT VALUED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
· Unix/Linux Experience Preferred
· Technical or Business Degree Preferred
· Knowledge of Automotive and Automotive Recycling Industry Highly Preferred
