Job Title: Carbon Fiber Infusion Technician Position Summary: Diverse Composites is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carbon Fiber Infusion Technician with hands-on experience in automotive composite manufacturing, including vacuum infusion and prepreg processes. This role is critical to producing high-quality composite components in a fast-paced, startup manufacturing environment focused on efficiency, precision, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate is a self-driven technician who understands composite layup techniques, process control, and quality standards, and thrives in a Lean manufacturing culture. Key Responsibilities: Perform carbon fiber layup for vacuum infusion and prepreg applications Execute vacuum bagging, infusion setup, and resin flow management Work with prepreg materials, including proper handling, storage, and curing processes Operate and monitor ovens, autoclaves, or curing systems (if applicable) Trim, finish, and inspect composite parts to meet dimensional and cosmetic standards Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and build books Maintain strict adherence to process controls and quality requirements Identify and troubleshoot defects (voids, dry spots, bridging, delamination) Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, waste reduction) Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Assist in developing and improving work instructions and process documentation
Required Qualifications 2+ years of experience in carbon fiber composite manufacturing Direct experience with: o Vacuum infusion processes o Prepreg layup and curing Strong understanding of: o Fiber orientation and ply schedules o Resin systems and cure cycles o Vacuum systems and leak detection Ability to read technical drawings and specifications Experience with automotive or performance composite parts High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Work Environment: Manufacturing/production floor Exposure to composite materials, resins, and solvents Team-driven environment focused on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement Ability to stand, bend, and work with hands Ability to lift to 50 lbs. Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with PPE Ability to work in environments with resins, dust, and odors (with proper protection)
