Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Sonographer to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assist in the evaluation of patients' health conditions. This role requires a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, as well as the ability to work effectively in a clinical environment. The Sonographer will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform sonographic examinations on patients, ensuring high-quality images are obtained for diagnostic purposes.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort.
- Assess and evaluate images for quality and completeness, making adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation related to ultrasound procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians to discuss findings and assist in developing patient care plans.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques and safety protocols during examinations.
- Monitor vital signs during procedures and report any abnormalities to the medical team.
- Stay updated on advancements in sonography technology and techniques.
Education:
- Graduate with an associates or bachelor's degree from an accredited echocardiography program
- Registered as a cardiac sonographer- RDCS or RCS
- Registry eligible will be considered
Experience:
- At least 1 year of previous experience is preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of aseptic technique
- Knowledge of EKG rhythms
- Ability to use Electronic Medical Records
- IV insertion for administration of ultrasound imaging enhancement agents and bubble studies, proficient within 6 months of hire
Licensure/Certification(s) Mandatory:
- Registered or Registry eligible: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) in Adult Echocardiography is required. New graduates are required to obtain certification within 12 months of hire as a condition of continued employment
- Minimum of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
