    Job Description

    We want to hire an ambitious and highly organized Account Manager to join us and help manage a strong portfolio of existing clients, as well as facilitate our outreach to prospective customers. You will work closely with our Affordable Housing Services Manager and leverage our exemplary reputation to help deepen relationships with existing clients and build new ones. You will help to shape energy management strategies for a large number of affordable housing developers and sell our services which include green building, onsite generation, utility billing, energy management services as well as energy and water efficiency. You will continue to grow and develop with a view to directly managing company’s accounts in the near future.

    General Requirements

    • Ambition to develop the necessary skills required to own accounts and relationships successfully
    • A history of participation in professional industry associations
    • Construction or building management knowledge
    • Experience working with government/utility energy incentive programs
    • Creativity in prospecting for new clients and sourcing revenue
    • Ability to support existing relationships, receive guidance and incorporate constructive feedback into the work process
    • 3+ years of work experience in account management, energy, real estate, affordable housing or related field

    Responsibilities

    • Attend industry events with the Manager of Affordable Housing Services and learn how to effectively represent the company and support our expanding presence in the market
    • Learn and understand Federal, State and Utility policies and programs as they impact an Energy Management Strategy for a client, with the ability to apply project financing where applicable
    • Identify opportunities to develop water and energy efficiency, onsite generation and power resiliency projects
    • Help create new or improve upon existing water and energy management action plan for the manager’s portfolios and properties through our “Find, Fix, and Follow “approach
    • Participate in projects and assignments as directed on behalf of the Manager, including but not limited to: account research, generating proposals and drafting emails that present the company’s value proposition clearly, schedule internal and external meetings and calls, analyze economics of various energy-related investments for clients, effectively keeps records in shared projects and account management tools, Initiating opportunities to communicate directly with clients
    • Monitor, measure and track opportunities in salesforce.com and provide weekly reports to a supervisor
    • Develop a deep understanding of our existing clients’ past and present dealings with us, the organizational structure and energy management practices
    • Prospect and qualify new clients within the affordable housing real estate sector in conjunction with the Manager of Affordable Housing Services
    • Provide assistance to help support – and eventually manage a part of – an existing portfolio of accounts with a view to helping us become the trusted energy management adviser or partner to our clients
