Job Functions
- Pre-reading all echocardiogram – The volume of the echocardiogram is increasing annually (Figure 1) and currently we have three locations, 94 Bowery, Flushing supersite, and Manhattan supersite, performing echocardiogram for Dr. Poon’s busy practice 7 days a week. The average number of echocardiograms performed is about 25 studies a day 7 days a week from all three locations which includes transthoracic echocardiogram, carotid ultrasound, and abdominal echo. This is the main reason for the urgent need to add Dr. Lai to my clinical team.
- Chart completion and compliance review of all clinical encounters on our EMR daily. This includes proofreading of all clinical notes for accurate charting and proper ICD-10 and HCC coding. Currently, Dr. Poon sees over 50+ patients a day and there are close to 100 line items on EMR needed to be signed off daily.
- Literature review, drafting of meeting minutes, and PowerPoint presentation for various clinical initiatives, teaching initiatives, and NP/PA mentorship. Examples of Dr. Lai’s previous and current work are shown in the Exhibits attached.
- Pre-reading of CCTA when Andrew Youv NP is on PTO and unusual coverage of emergency CCTA pre-reading. Dr. Lai was trained by me to read CCTA and is proficient in drafting preliminary CCTA reports. Figure 2.
- Drafting of monthly cardiology committee meeting minutes.
