WEEKEND ROUNDING NURSE (RN)

CARDIOLOGY AND MEDICINE ENTERPRISES

DESCRIPTION:

The nurse will round with the physician and assist with cardiac evaluations, progress notes, and orders. The nurse must deliver detailed instructions to patients, upon admission, discharge, and clinic follow-up. They must possess exceptional clinic competence and critical thinking skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Record health history of patient and note abnormal conditions for physician.

Instruct patients on collection of any necessary samples and tests.

Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physician.

Ensure that patient chart entries are made accurately and in a timely manner and forward charts as appropriate.

Maintain patient files, records, and other information.

Assist with scheduling of tests and treatments.

Arrange referrals to a specialist and obtain pre-authorizations when directed to by the provider.

Notify patients of test results and follow-up appointments.

Instruct patient and family regarding medications, treatments, and follow-up instructions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A degree from an accredited school of nursing is required. Must be certified in the state of Arkansas and possess a current Arkansas License.

Must have at least two (2) years of clinical experience, along with Lab, EKG, and X-ray experience.
