Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Intensive Care Nurse Manager (CVICU) to lead a high-acuity 19-bed critical care unit. This is an opportunity to join a Magnet®-designated, nationally recognized hospital providing advanced cardiac and surgical services, including the region’s only open-heart program. As Nurse Manager, you will oversee a team of 65 FTEs, collaborate with senior nursing leadership, and help drive excellence in patient outcomes, staff development, and service line growth.
Responsibilities
Lead daily operations of the CVICU, ensuring safe, evidence-based, and compassionate patient care.
Manage staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to promote efficiency and quality.
Mentor, coach, and support staff development in a culture of accountability and professional growth.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and national quality benchmarks.
Foster collaboration with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and hospital leadership.
Monitor budgets, evaluate clinical performance, and participate in strategic planning.
Support research and evidence-based practices to continuously improve patient care.
Promote employee engagement, retention, and recruitment by building a positive unit culture.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent (ADN/BA with MSN)
Active RN license in North Carolina or eNLC Compact state
BLS Healthcare Provider certification
3–5 years of recent nursing experience, including 2 years of relevant hospital clinical experience with demonstrated leadership skills
National certification in specialty or leadership within 1 year of hire (or 1 year after completing a graduate degree if enrolled)
Preferred
Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN)
Previous nurse leadership experience in a critical care setting

Salary range: $95,000 – $120,000/year
