    DAY/SHIFT/HOURS:                       MONDAY-FRIDAY 1:00 P.M.-9:30 P.M. HOLIDAY ROTATION

     

    STATUS:                                          FULL-TIME (RF STATUS 80/HOURS PAY PERIOD)

     

    THIS POSITION IS ELIGIBLE FOR A $5,000.00 SIGN ON BONUS

     

    DUTIES:

    Performs radiology exams and fluoroscopic procedures on patients of all ages. Maintains patient safety.

     

    Required Skills

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Provides a wide variety of patient services and assistance.

    Transports patients to and from the appropriate imaging modality from within the hospital (i.e. inpatient floors, ED ext.)

    Greets patient/families upon arrival to the Radiology area.

    Escorts patients to the appropriate x-ray room and assists patient with gowns, assists in moving patients on and off x-ray table

    Ensures physical comfort and safety of the patient.

    Maintains patient flow to maximize productivity of unit.

    Assures x-ray requisition and computer exam forms to determine type of x-ray required

    Utilizes orders systems to place transport orders from radiology to floor and unit.

    Notifies transport of patient that radiology will bring to the department or return to the floor and unit

    Reports to Supervisor immediately on: backlog of patients or problems encountered with equipment, patients and personnel

    Processes orders in radiology information system that include scheduling and tracking exams and films

    Processes downtime orders and transport orders in the electronic order system

    Assist staff with patient related duties, moving and assisting patient to all areas as needed

    Performs general radiology, portable, and fluoroscopic procedures (GIs, Gus, pediatrics, arthrograms, and spine center).

    Produces images of optimal quality for interpretation with accuracy and without delay.

    Maintains documentation requirements to ensure that all technical data is entered timely and accurately.

    Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.

    Ensure patients’ comfort and safety during and after the exam. May assist with scheduling of patients as needs forms, general radiology, portable, and fluoroscopic procedures (GIs, Gus, pediatrics, arthrograms, spine center).

    Demonstrates the care and operation of Radiology equipment according to technical specifications and applications.

    Notifies management and takes proper action to address equipment malfunctions.

    Required Experience

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    1. High School Graduate or Equivalent. Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program. Board Certified in Radiological Technology (ARRT) required.
    2. State of Ohio License registered as a Radiological Technologist. BLS required.
    3. Excellent interpersonal skills/ability to work well with people projecting a positive image for the Hospital.
    4. Minimum one year experience as a General Radiologic Technologist preferred.
    5. Excellent organizational and detail skills.
    6. Ability to work independently and prioritize work. Ability to direct, evaluate and supervise others.
    7. Ability to remain calm and function well in stressful situations.
    8. Ability to direct, evaluate and supervise others.
    9. A good understanding of age-related issues of infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and their families with regard to their specific physical and mental health needs.
    10. Ability to lift or assist with lifting patient of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily. Ability to spend majority of time on feet with substantial amount of walking, pushing, pulling and lifting patients.
