    Job Summary

    Fox Metals and Alloys, Inc. is a metals service center that operates as a fully-owned subsidiary of Reliance, Inc., a Fortune 500 SEC registrant and the largest metals service center in company in North America. Fox Metals specializes in distributing various grades of bar and plate products to industries such as oil, gas, energy, and petrochemical among others.

    The Safety and Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for implementing quality assurance and control standards to produce high-quality products, including preparing action plans, reviews, and establishing product specifications. In addition, this role will lead and supervise day-to-day safety operations, including administering safety plans and reports, managing safety records, and logs to conform with applicable Federal, state, and/or local regulations. The role requires strong analytical skills and an understanding of quality assurance standards, including regulatory and industry compliance requirements. Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively execute and lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance.

    Job Function

    • Responsible for ensuring known industry standards are adhered to and communicated for successful processing of metals.
    • Develop technical reports and write internal material specifications for various grades of steel.
    • Data Management: Responsible for the development and maintenance of all controlled documentation for the organization.
    • Provide sharp technical and professional expertise in complex material applications, customer communications, and third-party visits.
    • Improve, implement, and maintain ISO 9001:2015 certification for the organization.
    • Serve as the company's Certified Lead Auditor.
    • Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential business threats, safety hazards, as well as identify opportunities.
    • Monitor, update, and responsible for policies and procedures in alignment with Regulatory, County, Department of Transportation, Corporate, the metals industry, and OSHA standards.
    • Lead quality assurance functions/staff in ensuring achievement of product and process quality requirements in accordance with material specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards.
    • Create, improve, and maintain internal audit programs and reporting metrics in line with the organization's Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and Corporate objectives.
    • Determine root causes, resolve non-conformances, and approve the implementation of improvement plans and actions.
    • Promote awareness and communicate continuous improvement of the Quality, Safety, Health, Environmental, and Fleet/Driver Programs.
    • Develop and maintain training programs to enhance the organization in Quality, Safety, and best practices.
    • Incident Investigations and Incident Management.
    • Measurement of effectiveness.
    • Supplier and Contractor Approvals for Quality and Safety Management.
    • Serve as the Safety Champion representing Fox Metals during Corporate Summits.
    • Serve as a member of the Management Review Team.
    • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by immediate manager.

    SUPPLEMENTAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsibilities occasionally may require an adjusted work schedule and early morning/evening/weekend hours to meet month-end close or project deadlines.

    Required Skills

    • Minimum ten years of experience in Quality Management.
    • Minimum three years of experience in the oil and gas or related industry.
    • Must have a working knowledge of metallurgy fundamentals.
    • Must have a basic working knowledge of occupational safety and health standards for general industry.
    • Must be capable of reading and understanding oilfield specifications.
    • Must know and understand American Petroleum Institute Standard - API 6a.
    • Strong verbal, written, and soft communication skills required.
    • Ability to work effectively independently and in teams and with a variety of personality types required.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office products and systems.
    • Must have a thorough working knowledge of ISO standards and Quality Management Principles.
    • Must have lead auditor training and certification.
    • Must demonstrate leadership, collaboration skills, coach, and be coachable.

    Work Environment : Field & Office setting; predominately controlled temperature environment

    Travel : Up to 10%
