    Reporting to the Director, Finance, the Senior Manager, CMC Finance will lead all aspects of financial management across all Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls (CMC), Quality and Finance functions. Specific responsibilities include driving analytical approaches into the organization, driving forecasting and budgeting best practices, and evolving the company’s culture of financial operating discipline. Specific tasks include analyses related to actuals and accruals for monthly and quarterly financial closings, budgeting, forecasting activities as well as internal management reporting and external reporting to strategic partners. This individual will work with the respective functions to ensure appropriate financial management, processes and controls are in place with respect to the Company’s CMC and Quality functions, while ensuring that all the requirements and standards of the Finance group are met. 

    Required Skills

    • Responsible for all aspects of the CMC FP&A support including leading monthly forecast, annual budget, and long-range plan
    • Analyze budget and forecast versus actual results, identify key drivers, explanations, and resolution of variances, communicate insights to Finance and respective functions, and develop methods to enhance the forecast
    • Generate financial analysis & materials to present key findings to functional leadership and act as key representative for CMC and Quality in consolidated finance initiatives
    • Partner closely with and provide ongoing support to CMC and Quality for all financial activities related to inventory and manufacturing for clinical, commercial, and strategic collaborations
    • Manage financial aspects of selected commercial supply agreements and contract manufacturing arrangements
    • Act as primary Finance lead for ad hoc scenario analyses for various forecasting and CMC planning requests
    • Participate in ad-hoc Strategic Alliance meetings, workstreams, or committees Lead the monthly accounting close process related to inventory, drug manufacturing and external CMC spend, ensuring compliance with US GAAP
    • Support all quarterly and annual close & audit procedures related to CMC and Quality functions and support execute responsibilities consistent with SOX controls
    • Develop deep understanding of financial planning and ERP systems to enable and build reporting to support forecasting, close and variance to actuals analysis
    • Drive process improvements and enhance data transparency across financial planning, specifically related to inventory movement, production schedules and contracts
    • Drive financial mindset to inform investment decisions across the respective functions
    • Define and anticipate problems/opportunities and propose solutions/plans of action along with relevant information to key decision makers

     

    Required Experience

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 4+ years experience in Finance role
    • Extensive experience in financial statement analysis

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Pharma/Biotech experience
    • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
    • Possess excellent analytical, communication, decision making, human relations and organizational skills
    • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
    • Strong written & verbal communication skills including with executive leadership
    • Desire to work in a rapidly growing organization
    • Willing and able to contribute across a variety of areas as business needs evolve
    • Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environment
