    JOB DESCRIPTION

    This position specifically exists to provide classroom, laboratory, or related instruction under the supervision of the Department Chair and is responsible for planning and providing student instruction in accordance with approved syllabi, curriculum guidelines, and required program standards. Instructor must adhere to the laws, policies, procedures, rules, and applications which govern and affect the college, including the fiscal rules of the State of Colorado.

     

    PURPOSE OF ANNOUNCEMENT

    THE PURPOSE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS TO GATHER INFORMATION FROM INDIVIDUALS INTERESTED IN BEING AN INSTRUCTOR (PART-TIME) WITHIN THIS PROGRAM SO THE CHAIR CAN DEVELOP A POOL OF POTENTIAL PART-TIME INSTRUCTORS. THIS EMPLOYMENT IS ON A COURSE BY COURSE BASIS. INDIVIDUALS ARE USUALLY ASSIGNED TO ONE, OR MORE, CLASSES FOR A SINGLE SEMESTER, BASED ON PROGRAM NEEDS. THESE POSITIONS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR EMPLOYEE BENEFITS THROUGH THE COLLEGE. AS THESE ASSIGNMENTS ARE TO FILL A TEMPORARY PART-TIME NEED, THERE IS NO GUARANTEE OF CURRENT OR FUTURE EMPLOYMENT.     1. What discipline?: SOCIOLOGY
    2. What level (AA, BA, MA, PHD, etc.)?: MASTER’S DEGREE WITH AT LEAST 18 GRADUATE CREDIT HOURS IN SOCIOLOGY. MASTER’S OR PHD IN SOCIOLOGY PREFERRED.

    Is there any information you would like potential applicants to be aware of as they are considering submitting an application to instruct in this program/area?: ALL INSTRUCTORS ARE REQUIRED TO UTILIZE ONLINE COURSE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE (DESIRE2LEARN) FOR GRADES, ATTENDANCE, CONTACT INFORMATION, SYLLABUS, AND COURSE CONTENT. ALL INSTRUCTORS ARE REQUIRED TO USE PCC EMAIL TO COMMUNICATE WITH STUDENTS, DEPARTMENT CHAIR, AND STAFF. PCC UTILIZES A NUMBER OF SOFTWARE PLATFORMS THAT ALL INSTRUCTORS WILL BE ENCOURAGE TO USE, INCLUDING, EAB CAMPUS, ELUMEN, AND MAXIENT.

  • Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: GRADE 9 

    1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus five years relevant experience preferred. College level coursework plus seven years experience in enterprise workstation administration may substitute.
    2. Five to seven years of experience working with Microsoft desktop operating systems required.
    3. Thorough knowledge of application packaging and deployment systems such as SCCM.
    4. Thorough knowledge of Active Directory.
    5. Thorough knowledge of enterprise virus/malware detection software.
    6. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    7. Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work in a team setting.
    8. Ability to exercise independent judgment and function under close deadlines without direct supervision.
    9. Mechanical ability necessary to use specialized tools and diagnostic instruments required.
    10. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    11. Local travel between company facilities required.
    12. Considerable standing, walking, bending and lifting required.
    13. Ability to lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
    14. Excellent work record of attendance and punctuality; occasional evening, weekend and non-regular work hours required.

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: GRADE 10 

    1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus seven years relevant experience preferred. College level coursework plus nine years experience in enterprise workstation administration may substitute.
    2. Seven to nine years of experience working with Microsoft desktop operating systems required.
    3. Current Microsoft workstation certifications preferred.
    4. Related technical certification preferred.
    5. Detailed knowledge of application packaging and deployment systems such as SCCM.
    6. Detailed knowledge of Active Directory.
    7. Detailed knowledge of enterprise virus/malware detection software.
    8. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    9. Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work in a team setting.
    10. Ability to exercise independent judgment and function under close deadlines without direct supervision.
    11. Mechanical ability necessary to use specialized tools and diagnostic instruments required.
    12. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
