    Position Summary: The Development and Administrative Associate provides assistance of key functions and projects of the development and fundraising efforts of YouthConnect as well as essential administrative support to the Executive Director and staff.

    Required Skills

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Development • Assist with planning, executing, and follow-up relative to all development strategies, activities and events. • Assist with grant research, reading and writing; including proof-reading of all materials. • Create, update, coordinate and distribute the YouthConnect newsletter. • Manage the Raisers Edge database under the guidelines provided by the Main Office Development Department. • Liaison with the Main Office Development Department relative to gift processing, in-kind donations and other development and fundraising needs. • Assist with the development and support of the YouthConnect Advisory Board. • Work closely with BGCB’s Communications and Marketing Department to support all marketing strategies for YouthConnect. • Data entry, filing and oversight of administrative tasks associated with development and fundraising information. Administrative • Manage all correspondence, internal memoranda, and reports. Maintain copies and organizes documents as necessary. • Manage and support the YouthConnect client database. • Review, proofread and edit monthly reports as needed. • Manage daily administrative tasks such as mail, faxes, office supplies, office space, etc. • Coordinate and manage all office equipment (printers, fax machine, cell phones, pagers, etc.). Work with vendors relative to equipment needs and contracts. • Receive and transfer all in-coming telephone calls. • Serve an important public relations role by providing accurate information about the program. • Staff and participate in YouthConnect meetings and record minutes. • Set up, problem-solve and manage email accounts, manage and assess hardware/software needs and updates, communicate with BPD IT to understand system requirements to operate using the BPD system. • Represent YouthConnect on the BGCB’s Technology Committee.

    Required Experience

    Position Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree required. • Prior development experience; preferably fundraising and event planning. • 1-3 years of administrative experience, preferably in non-profit setting. • Strong writing skills. • Strong technical skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook. • Experience working with database systems; preferably Raiser’s Edge. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem solving skills. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. • Ability to travel throughout the community to attend meetings and events as needed.
