  • Responsibilities

    The Virtual Branch Advisor is responsible for responding to member needs quickly and efficiently with high quality service and advice. Communication methods are primarily digitally, chat, email, fax, and secured messaging; may also include phone and video teller.  Responsibilities include online account opening, loan origination, account and plastics maintenance, technical support and research for Digital Banking and Bill Pay research. The virtual branch advisor will provide member service through research and problem solving.  The Virtual Branch Advisor should always strive to exceed the expectations of the members.   

     

    *Employees are expected to demonstrate and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including but not limited to BSA, OFAC, CIP, and internal policies and procedures.

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

    • VIRTUAL BRANCH SUPPORT
      • Responsibility for opening and onboarding new accounts/loans that come in digitally
      • Responsible for processing Visa, auto, and home equity loan applications that come in digitally and working actively with Consumer Lending to find solutions that are appropriate for members
      • Ensure appropriate communication is provided to members
      • Will onboard members who utilize digital channels by reaching out via phone, emails, and texts
      • Involved with testing of new digital processes or systems
      • Utilize red flag and fraud identification in digital applications
      • Looks for improvements and enhancements for the members’ digital experience and communicate ideas to Virtual Branch Assistant Manager
    • VIRTUAL BRANCH OPERATIONS
    • May prepare reports and analyze information as well as work on special projects
    • Review member information, application and credit bureau for other sales opportunities and advise members on products and services that will meet their needs
    • Maintain product knowledge and expertise on Purdue Federal products and services
    • Cross-sell other products and services that the Credit Union offers and refer/direct member to utilize online banking, bill pay, eStatements, and direct deposits
    • Perform account maintenance such as closing accounts and name/address changes
    • Maintenance on Plastics (Visa Check and Visa Credit) - such as card activation, bonus point maintenance, card ordering, troubleshooting problems
    • Visa increase processing - take and process information for lending decision, follow through with member to ensure request is processed
    • Ensure compliance with all Federal and State regulations
    • Ensure compliance with all Purdue Federal compliance and procedures

    Required Skills

    • EDUCATION
      • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
    • EXPERIENCE
      • Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in call centers, customer service, sales and/or banking required
      • Customer service, sales, financial service and computer experience required
    • KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
      • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
      • Competent computer skills
      • Ability to work under pressure and constant interruptions
      • Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, in a professional manner when dealing with employees and members
      • Ability to follow the core values of honesty, integrity, mutual respect, pride and ownership

    • This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phone, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
