    POSITION SUMMARY                             The primary objective of this role is to manage and grow the Engineering capabilities in the Division. – Support project temporary works design assistance.

     

     

    KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   

     

    ESTIMATING AND PURSUIT RESPONSIBILITIES

                   

    • Assess technical constructability of projects at the design and/or bidding stage
    • Be heavily involved with the division estimating team throughout the estimate   
    • Manage in-house engineering processes and resources
    • Assist with negotiating and managing third-party design contracts

     

    CONSTRUCTION RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Work with construction managers and superintendents on planning, scheduling, and budgeting of engineering and design functions on division projects
    • Help determine project-related decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling, and performance
    • Support project engineering staff during construction of division-led projects. This includes personally performing engineering tasks and providing assistance and training to project engineering personnel as necessary
    • Assist project management teams with coordination of technical issues with subcontractors
    • Manage the execution of construction plans to specifications in accordance with all applicable codes and standards
    • Manage Engineered Systems Program for all division projects
    • Manage engineering functions required for equipment usage and upgrades
    • Support management of a central repository of engineering information

     

    EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT RESPONSIBITIES

     

    • Manage the flow of technical information between projects and throughout the division
    • Stay current on applicable software, to enhance productivity and engineering performance
    • Provide training for engineers through the company’s training program and/or onsite, as required
    • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division and corporate management. Travel as required to attend events including, but not limited to, meetings, site visits, conferences, training, etc.

    Required Experience

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE     

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
    • Minimum 5-10 years engineering experience required
    • Project field experience preferred
    • PE required

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
    • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards
    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
    • Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on telephone
    • Requires sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and routine keyboard operations
