    WR is seeking a Software Engineer for an exciting position supporting U.S. Navy Surface Ship Track Management systems in Dahlgren, VA. The selected candidate will perform code reviews and fixes, and design reviews.

     

     

    Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

     

    • Consults with customers to gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements.
    • Consults with customer concerning maintenance of software system.
    • Formulates and designs software system, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
    • Develops and directs software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
    • Analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
    • Analyzes and estimates feasibility, costs, time, and compatibility with hardware and other programs.
    • Develops and maintains plans outlining steps and time tables for developing programs.
    • Researches and evaluates software and hardware to support development or utilization.

     

    Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:  

     

    • BS Degree from ABET-recognized curricula: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Computer Science/Engineering.
    • Three (3)+ years of professional experience in C, C++, C#, Visual Basic and/or other object oriented languages.
    • Demonstrated software development using one or more of these languages under the Unix, Windows, Linux, and/or MS-DOS operating systems.
    • Experience may be substituted in lieu of degree depending on domain experience and contractual requirements.

     

     

    ACTIVE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

    • Experience with developing and overseeing CONOPS for existing or new systems.
    • Supervising a team of twenty (20) or more people on a mid-sized to major project or program.
    • Must have experience with overseeing the development of Security Test and Evaluations under the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), understanding of risk management practices and security program development including change management, access control, and physical security.
    • Must be knowledgeable with the Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) process and have experience with network and security engineering including a basic understanding of routing, quality of service mechanisms, MPLS, and network architectures.
    • Experience/understanding of the Vulnerability Management System (VMS), Host Based Security System (HBSS) and eMASS.
    • Exceptional and timely completion of all written or verbal deliverables.

     

    DESIRED SKILLS: Broad knowledge and expertise with DoD network and enclave architecture and operations and associated standards for open systems architectures. Knowledgeable of compliance with organizational policies and expertise in monitoring and evaluation of deliverables and order-related reports.
