    THE OPPORTUNITY: We are seeking highly motivated and skilled person to join our Purchasing organization. The INDIRECT BUYER is responsible for indirect purchases and inventory control on tool crib, manage cost reduction initiatives and all supplier relationship agreements (Long Term Agreements, Purchase Orders).

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Define, implement and leads indirect purchasing processes and controls
    • Lead commodity strategies for tool crib components
    • Assist to implement Kanban, VMI initiatives
    • Identify Benchmark and submit Cost Deployment initiative
    • Manage Inventory Targets for Tool crib inventory
    • Manage Obsolete Inventory Process for Tool crib Inventory
    • Expedite Critical material
    • Manage Escalation process on bad delivery suppliers
    • Understand and meets Quality and EHS procedures
    • Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned
    • Knows and Communicates the need for product safety.
    • Support PSA Activities and procedures with team members
    • Perform all those activities that by the nature of the position are required.
    • Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
    • Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
    • Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
    • Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT The employee will be required to perform duties on a computer terminal. The employee may be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc. 

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of an office work environment position.

    Required Skills

    • Transactional understanding of SAP Material Management module preferred
    • Clear understanding of MRP and ERP principles
    • Demonstrated knowledge on Purchasing Policies, negotiations and procurement procedures
    • MS Office Expert with experience on tables and charts

    Required Experience

    2-5+ years of relevant experience, strong preference for someone with managed resource purchasing experience

    • Demonstrated expeirence manufacturing environment, including performance management
    • Experience in developing Purchasing strategies
    • Proven results driving supplier performance
    • Proven results driving cost deployment projects
    • SAP ERP knowledge

     

    EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Supply Chain or Business field
