    Reporting to the Director of Communications and Operations, the Assistant Director of Communications is responsible for strategy development and execution of communications for, but not limited to undergraduate audience. The AD of Communications will oversee the admissions social and interactive media, all outgoing communications (email/print), act as a liaison with University Marketing, and manage publications. Daily responsibilities include communication with many prospective students through digital communication, event marketing, texting, social media, and print.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop and implement strategic communications plans for every level of the funnel including, Freshman, Sophomore and Junior prospecting flows to a Senior Flow (application, admit and deposit, yield and anti-melt, parent and counselor newsletters, etc.).

    • Serve as a copywriter for all email communications and content marketing on social media.

    • When necessary, design advertising materials for the division, including flyers, cards, email templates, landing page graphics, infographics, and more.

    • Update, maintain and streamline event templates ensuring data is being mapped into the system and tracked appropriately.

    • Create and execute daily communications to prospective students, applicants, and incoming students. This includes electronic, print, texting, robo calls and other support of e-marketing efforts.

    • Must become knowledgeable about all aspects of Stetson University including academic programs, campus events and activities, orientation, athletics, housing, financial aid, billing, college policy, and important dates.

    • Develop and test rules within CRM systems to ensure that communications are being sent to the correct audiences at the correct times in accordance to the recruitment communication plan and calendar.

    • Create accurate reports and lists of students based on key data points.

    • Responsible for all edits and updates on the Enrollment website. Must be proficient in web content management systems (web garage, etc.) to manage and update website copy as needed.

    • Work with Marketing, Recruitment, and Operation staffs to ensure that adequate levels of inventory are established and maintained to support outgoing communications and travel needs.

    • In coordination with the Marketing team, works with third-party vendors to fulfill large mailings on behalf of the University.

    • Assists with the effective management of data entry, specifically with special requests that require immediate communications as a result.

    • Communicates accurate scholarship and financial aid award amounts to prospective students through email, portal, packets and texts.

    • Collaborate with, and serve as liaison with other Stetson offices, such as Residential Living and Learning, Financial Aid, Special Programs and Stetson Young Scholars, to coordinate communications, website updates, and marketing.

    • Assist the Admissions office with on- and off-campus programs and events including travel, open house events, information sessions and more. Assist with various Operations needs based on calendar cycle.

    • Report weekly on marketing communication campaign effectiveness, ROI, and web analytics to maximize productivity.

    • Understand the voice, brand position and attributes of Stetson University and express it appropriately through all communication channels.

    • Performs other site and position-related duties as assigned.

    ROUTINE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop a communication strategy for the FTIC admission team and monitor print and email flow, social media analytics, and device texting. (50%)
    • Writing, preparing, and coordinating both print and electronic communication flow including email and texts; ensuring mail and emails are processed and sent out daily.
    • Social Media and design functions. (10%)
    • Manage recruitment material inventory. (20%)
    • Supervision of student employees to help with print mailings, texting, social media campaigns, and more. (15%)
    • Other duties as assigned (5%):
      • Saturday hours as needed for recruitment events, like open houses, Move-in Day, and Hatter Saturday

    Required Skills

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, or related field.
    • 3+ years of related experience.
    • Ability to work independently and adhere to strict deadlines a must.

    Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as determined by the University’s auto insurance carrier.

    Ideal Candidates Qualifications :

    • Familiarity with basic graphic design, HTML, MS Excel, MS Access, InDesign.
    • Familiarity with Technolutions Slate.
    • Experience in email marketing, social media, copywriting, and text message marketing preferred.

    Salary Grade: 5
