    Sr. Accountant-CPA

    Position Summary:
    Provides support to the Payroll department, Accounts Payable department and the Accounting department through processing of payroll, coding and matching of AP invoices, providing journal entry support, account reconciliation, filing and transaction research support. Reports to the Regional Controller with local oversight.

    Essential Functions:
    The Sr. Accountant may be assigned one or more duties. These duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Receipt and coding of AP invoices as required by current chart of accounts
    • Matching of AP invoices to related support to prepare voucher packages for signature approval
    • Weekly delivery of AP invoice packages for all operating locations to all states processing group in compliance with the monthly closing schedule
    • Provide support and assistance with month-end closing including reconciliations and journal entry detailed support as needed
    • Provide research and scanning support for internal and annual audit requests
    • Provide research and scanning support to Accounting department during month-end and year-end closing process
    • Provide support and analysis related to all internal and year-end audits as required
    • Provide support for bank processing activity locally by securing and delivering all deposit information to the Miami processing group as needed
    • Accurately enter and process timely all payroll detail and reimbursements into the Paylocity system including the download, review and approval of all time clock data
    • Accurately process all wage garnishments, withholding orders, tax forms, vacation time, insurance and other deductions in compliance with company policies
    • Review and maintain detailed employee payroll files including all address, earnings and deduction elections as required by company policies
    • Review and reconcile bi-weekly pay registers and deduction reports to insure the accuracy of all Paylocity files that will be uploaded into the company NAV financial reporting system
    • Provide support as needed to reconcile all payroll related issues within established company guidelines and with the Miami processing group to insure timely and accurate processing and reporting of payroll
    • Provide all payroll reporting to local managers as required
    • Other duties as assigned by management

    Additional Duties:
    The Accountant may be assigned one or more additional duties. These duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Perform other job related duties as assigned by Regional Controller or the local oversight.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all information pertaining to company policies, rates of pay, competitive information, or any other sensitive or confidential information while employed by or pertaining to the company and its employees. Due to the extremely sensitive nature of this position, the duty of strict confidentiality extends beyond the term of employment.
    • Full time, generally weekdays.

    The individual in this position must possess the following qualifications:

    • No criminal record involving a felony conviction.
    • May not be concurrently employed by any other ambulance service or any other entity which could pose a conflict of interest.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
    • Ability to operate within Microsoft NAV system

    Education Requirements:
    The individual in this position must possess the following education requirements:

    • BS degree in accounting/finance is required with two to five plus years of experience along with solid analytical skills. Good organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks and able to meet deadlines. Accurate and precise math skills. Willingness to follow procedures, be a team player, and work well under pressure.
    • Active CPA- required
