    SUMMARY

     

     

    The Principle Systems Engineer I shall have experience in U.S. Navy Combat Systems in support of Land Based Test and Training Sites. Recent experience specific to AEGIS Weapons System/Combat System (AWS/ACS) is required. The position is not covered under the Service Contract Act (SCA) Davis Bacon Act (DBA), or union.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

     

    • Technical understanding of SPY Radar and variants necessary to support and achieve Site installation, integration and activation requirements.
    • Working knowledge of NTDS and site-specific switching systems and network topologies that support Combat System Elements sharing within Navy baseline laboratories.   
    • Surface Combatant Weapons experience with major programs/platforms such as AEGIS, SSDS, FFG, LUSV, or USCG
    • Established experience in engineering, strategic planning, design, development, installation, activation, and integration of complex new Land Based test/training capabilities, and surface combatant modernization
    • Combat Systems, weapons systems, system interfaces, facility combat system configuration, system and site networks, distributed systems, fiber distribution systems, wiring diagrams/schematics and cable plant configuration management and control
    • Experience as a liaison between the various Land Based Test and Training Sites, stakeholders, and Program Office personnel
    • Engineering and technical support services for facility and equipment design activities
    • Reading installation drawings, cable block diagrams and configuration drawings
    • System Network Planning and Design
    • Requirements and specifications development for hardware installation at Land Based Test and Training Sites
    • Navy Tactical and Simulation hardware procurement support
    • Presentation development
    • Maintain hardware configuration tracking
    • Strong MS Office skills
    • Other duties as assigned

     

    Required Skills

    REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

     

     

    • Bachelor’s degree OR 10 years of Surface Combatant-related experience
    • AWS/ACS experience
    • Experience in or knowledge of AEGIS Land Based Test and Training Site infrastructure and missions preferred
    • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance

     

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

     

     

    • The Principle Systems Engineer I shall have USN training and 10 or more years related experience or a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, scientific, business, or technical discipline.
