  • Responsibilities

    The Supervisor will facilitate and coordinate the receiving, warehousing and/or shipping of parts and finished product while assuring that the inventory accuracy is maintained.   Ensure that all customer service and productivity requirements are met.  Ensures day to day operations are fulfilled in an effective and consistent manner. 

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for identifying training needs and implementing processes to support the efficient operation of the receiving, warehousing and or shipping departments.  Provide for the development and training of employees.
    • Monitor cost center performance and maintain budgets within approved limits.
    • Plan daily departmental needs based on workload information & schedules.  Controls manpower and overtime needs within schedule and budget constraints.
    • Responsible for creating an environment which values employees, serves our customers, and provides a fair return to owners.
    • Work with value stream supervisors to coordinate line changeovers and special projects.
    • Administer the inventory control policies to assure that all inventory locations are accurate and that value streams can be supplied in a timely manner. 
    • Become proficient in the use of the Transportation Management System and MRP system.
    • Assure conformance to 5S requirements and maintains outstanding scores on 5S audits. 
    • Load, shore, and prepare the needed documents in conformance with DOT and Toro regulations.
    • Responsible for all areas of employee relations including handling all personnel issues, discipline, complaints, etc. while following company policies.
    • Responsible for ensuring safety practices are followed.  Works towards a goal of zero incidents/injuries.
    • Obtain hazardous material shipping training; complete all hazardous material paperwork as required. Train loaders regarding hazardous shipping. 
    • Monitor safety, energy, hygiene, environmental and security programs and assure areas are in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws.
    • Assure the E.E.O. and A.A.P. programs are complied with in areas of responsibility.
    • Perform timely relevant performance evaluations which address employee performance. 
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    JOB DIMENSIONS:

    • Reports to the Materials Manager
    • Coordinates activities over 3 shifts and two locations.
    • Supervises 25+ employees
    • Budget responsibility of $1M+
    • WIP inventory responsibility of $15-25M
    • Flow through responsibility of $200M+
    • 2nd shift begins at 2pm with 9 hour days Monday-Thursday and Friday is a 4 hour shift.

     

    SPECIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma and 3-5+ years in a related capacity required.  B.S. degree preferred. 
    • 3+ years of supervisory experience.
    • Ability to work with employees of all levels of the organization. 
    • Good understanding of Materials, Inventory, Human Resources functions. 
    • Computer skills required. 
    • Prior supervisory experience preferred.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION: 

    • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with Advanced Practice Nurse Master’s Degree OR
    • Graduated from an accredited Professional Physician Assistant Program
    • Active Physician Assistant state license or Nurse Practitioner state license 
    • Active DEA license from state of practice if applicable
    • Board Certified (NP must be FNP certified for six (6) months to adult)
    • BLS Certification
    • Medical Examiners Certification for DOT physicals (ME certification may be acquired within the first 30 days of employment)

    ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Must be aware of hazardous situations and be able to provide a leadership role in emergencies as needed.
