  • Responsibilities

    MAJOR FUNCTION:

    Manage the attainment of divisional sales objectives via the Rental Direct network and Construction Channel within the assigned area of responsibility.  Implement all divisional sales and marketing programs through Manufacturer Representatives for customer group in assigned area.  Responsible for quarterly and annual sales and projection plans for assigned area by specific product group. Train Manufacturer Representative personnel in area of responsibility on Toro products and programs to improve retail sales.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:                                                                     

    • Achieve sales objectives for each fiscal year to meet divisional financial goals.

    • Continuously upgrade Manufacturer Representation personnel in product and product marketing knowledge, improve their selling / management skills, resulting in polished, professional, effective field sales personnel.

    • Develop and maintain/edit NEW CUSTOMER TARGET LIST in each Manufacturer Representative area. Review progress with Senior Rental Sales Manager on a monthly basis.

    • Infuse understanding of Toro Culture into Manufacturer Representatives.

    • Develop and monitor sales forecasts by product group and customer type for area of responsibility. Review on a monthly basis with Senior Rental Sales Manager.

    • Communicate and manage consignment program for Manufacturer Representative for area of responsibility. Review on a monthly basis with Senior Rental Sales Manager.

    • Work with Manufacturer Representative in developing an annual sales plan by product line including customer development, new market development, channel program development, and any other activities to assist Manufacturer Representative in achieving divisional sales objectives. Review monthly with Senior National Sales Manager.

    • Maintain a communication system with all key personnel within area of responsibility.

    • Ensure timely and professional relationship building with SWS National Account field management personnel in conjunction with Manufacturer Representative network.

    Territory Sales Manager

    • Provide Sales, Marketing, and Engineering with input in development of new products, product improvement, programming development, and competitive information necessary to achieve short and long term divisional sales objectives.

    • Monitor and control travel and entertainment budgets within guidelines. Review on a quarterly basis with Senior Rental Sales Manager.

    • Develop recommendations / action plans with Senior Rental Sales Manager related to performance problems within Manufacturer Representative network.

    • Maintain a professional working relationship with National Rental Manager, Senior Rental Sales manager, Administration Managers and all other individuals or departments within the Division and Company that impact performance level of area of responsibility.

    • Assure that all administrative responsibilities are completed on a timely basis and in a professional manner.

    • Other responsibilities as assigned by Senior Rental Sales Manager.

    SPECIFICATIONS:

    Individual must be highly motivated, enthusiastic, self-starter and possess excellent leadership abilities. Bachelor of Arts / Science degree from an accredited college or university.  MBA helpful but not required.  A minimum of 5 years experience in selling durable goods required and 2 years management experience a plus.  Prefer individual with experience managing and selling through Manufacturer Representatives.  Possess necessary skill levels to utilize computer in performing job functions and managing territory. Job requires presence in area of responsibility 4 to 5 days per week.
