    Smartronix Inc., a Premier Amazon Web Services Consulting Partner and Microsoft Gold partner, is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Solution Architect to join our expanding Cloud Services business unit and work with some of the best Cloud Architects and Cloud Engineers in the market.  A successful candidate will bring an enthusiasm for professional services delivery work, proven experience with networking concepts and technologies, hands-on experience building high-volume, fault-tolerant platforms, and a willingness to contribute to the overall team.  The Solution Architect must be able to interface directly with customers, support project engagements, work collaboratively with other team members and groups within the Cloud Services business unit, and be a trusted advisor and consultant to the customer.  Smartronix Solution Architects support the full life cycle of their assigned client engagements - from discovery and analysis - through operational readiness activities.

     

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Support the full project lifecycle - to include any of: consulting, discovery, analysis, architecture, design, documentation, building, migration, automation and production-readiness activities
    • Produce high-quality technical design, build and procedure documentation
    • Implement cloud-based and/or cloud-native solutions
    • Contribute on project engagements, work collaboratively with other team members, communicate effectively, and foster team success
    • Provide transparent and regular status updates to Smartronix Project and Account Management team members
    • Actively contribute to internal Smartronix efforts
    • Assist in troubleshooting efforts when asked and as needed
    • Support after-hours incident escalations and/or maintenance windows as needed
    • Achieve and maintain AWS, Azure and/or GCP certification levels as required
    • Support pre-sales efforts when requested

    Required Skills

    • 2+ years working or consulting directly on customer-facing project engagements
    • 2+ years leveraging AWS platform services in a hands-on capacity
    • Ability to work within an organized and structured delivery-centric professional services team
    • Ability to educate and influence customers on cloud best practices in the areas of security, stability, scalability and cost
    • Ability to understand and translate customer requirements into high-volume, fault-tolerant platforms using industry-proven design patterns
    • Hands-on experience with networking constructs (cloud and physical – e.g.: IP routing, switching, load balancing, BGP, NACLs), large-scale VPC design patterns and related device configurations (e.g.: DirectConnect, Palo Alto, Transit Hub, Transit Gateway)
    • Hands-on experience working with Linux-based operating systems
    • Hands-on experience configuring common infrastructure roles (e.g.: DNS, NTP, logging services, web proxies)
    • Hands-on experience with the development of automation scripts (using e.g.: Python, PowerShell, Boto3) highly preferred
    • Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code concepts and related software highly preferred (e.g.: CloudFormation, Terraform)
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong analytic, organization, presentation, customer service and facilitation skills

    Required Experience

    • 2+ years working or consulting directly on customer-facing project engagements
    • 2+ years leveraging AWS platform services in a hands-on capacity
    • Hands-on experience with networking constructs (cloud and physical – e.g.: IP routing, switching, load balancing, BGP, NACLs), large-scale VPC design patterns and related device configurations (e.g.: DirectConnect, Palo Alto, Transit Hub, Transit Gateway)
    • Proof of active AWS Solution Architect Associate, Professional or specialty-track certification desired
    • Bachelor's Degree required or additional 4 years of relevant Information Technology experience accepted in lieu of degree
