    Job Description

    A leading consumer products/food manufacturing company is seeking a BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE MANAGER to lead their data warehousing and analytics team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the BI MANAGER will also support executives across the Sales, Marketing, Operations and Accounting teams. The BI MANAGER will provide visibility to financial, operational and commercial performance across the organization, resulting in data driven and impactful decisions and increased profitability. Helping to design, build, maintain and optimize databases, the BI MANAGER will play a key role in the growth, strategy and overall direction of the company.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Takes ownership of POWER BI administration for the organization, with a focus on improving existing reports, improving user experience, and streamlining the update process
    • Builds and maintains dashboards and reports, ensuring they are accurate and timely
    • Proactively identifies opportunities for the Company to better leverage internal and external data to improve performance
    • Cleanses and harmonizes data sets and structures/maintains databases effectively to feed Power BI reporting
    • Establishes and executes processes to collect, and consolidate internal and external datasets (e.g., shipments/consumption/warehouse depletion/operations metrics)
    • Transitions legacy excel reporting to POWER BI, including customer profitability, operational metrics, and historical and projected financial performance
    • Proactively finds ways to improve efficiency, accuracy, and insightfulness of financial reporting
    • Assists with the publishing of other recurring performance reporting including customer profitability, trade spend tracking, forecast accuracy, commercial, and operational performance
    • Assists with crafting new reporting and analysis tools using excel, access, etc
    • Documents standard operating procedures, and cross-trains finance team counterparts on how to complete key tasks
    • Additional responsibilities may be required based on business needs

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Data Science, Analytics, Mathematics, Business, Economics, Finance)
    • 6+ years of progressive experience in a Consumer Packaged Goods (Preferably Food) BI Development/Data Analytics role
    • Advanced knowledge of building and administering databases, building PowerBI visualizations from the ground up, with special attention to optimizing user experience and insightfulness
    • Expertise in SQL and SQL Server
    • Expertise in building meaningful reporting in support of performance tracking and business decision making
    • Expert knowledge of Excel (including VBA and Macros), and Access
    • Extensive experience efficiently structuring databases utilizing a variety of data sources
    • Team player with outstanding communication and influencing skills
    • Strategic thinking, leadership, and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly grasp the “so-what”
