Job Description

A well-known Consumer Goods Manufacturer in San Francisco is seeking a bright and reliable Invoice Deduction Specialist to join their team on a team on a contract basis! In this role, you will use your research, communication and computer skills to provide support to accounting department members, as well as other departments and external parties. We are looking for a detail-oriented, self-starter who has strong knowledge of accounting and customer deductions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze and review large quantities of customer deductions
• Resolve valid or authorized deductions daily by entering to proper GL, broker, and customer accounts
• Research all deductions for validity and obtain/request supporting documents
• Enter updates and comments regarding the deduction on the comment portion of Kikkonet/DMS
• Submit Resolved Deductions daily to account manager
• Request paybacks from customers for invalid deductions
• Request deduction approvals from broker and sales managers
• Identify and assign deductions to correct GL codes, customer, and broker
• Obtain deduction back ups from customer portals and emails

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum AA degree in Accounting; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 5+ years of accounting related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Accounting experience in packaged food industry or warehouse distribution preferred
• Strong technical skills; highly proficient in Microsoft Office (knowledge of Citrix is a plus)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions including written, oral diagram, and schedule form
• Exceptional customer service skills is a must
• Ability to speak, write, and understand English clearly
• Proactive with the ability to prioritize workload efficiently
• Consistent follow up and follow through
