  • Responsibilities

    As the Head of People, you will work directly with the CEO, founders, board of directors, and our team to hire, reward, and retain talent. 

    • HIRE: You will lead the entire hiring process and be part of the initial team to grow the business from a startup into the largest player in the workforce development industry. You will have the amazing opportunity to be the face of our company to prospective hires and ensure we handle each candidate with empathy. 

    • DEVELOP: Career Karma is a talent magnet and you will draw on your People Operations experience to make sure to develop leaders internally while creating the best environment for them to work in. We have a team of dedicated, hardworking, and exceptionally talented folks who are hungry for development and eager to work with you to make Career Karma an even better company than it is today. 

    • BUILD: You will draw on extensive knowledge of recruiting and people operations. You’ll forge dynamic relationships with business leaders, hiring managers, and the People Team. Over time, you’ll identify resource needs; we’re growing quickly and this is an opportunity to build a people and talent team from the ground up. 

    • PARTNER: This role will report to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with extensive cross-functional interaction to drive strategies down to execution while keeping up and accelerating the pace of Career Karma.

    HOW YOU’LL FULFILL YOUR MISSION  

    • ATTRACT: Maximize the top of the funnel by leveraging tools, well-written copy, creative marketing, and more  to attract top diverse talent across engineering, product, and operations functions to build high performing teams; ensure interview process provides candidates of all backgrounds with equal, unbiased consideration and opportunity; maintain a network of potential candidates through proactive sourcing strategies and ongoing relationship management.

    • HIRE: Champion the mission and vision by working with leaders and hiring managers to qualify candidates that are passionate about Career Karma; assess talent needs to deliver high impact and high-quality work products; advise on talent strategy, contributing your expertise on the market, interview best practices, and effective recruiting process to ensure we have an elite talent function. 

    • ONBOARD: Create first-in-class experiences for the candidate and business through high touch engagement that exemplifies Career Karma’s employee experience (i.e. values and culture)

    • DEVELOP: Identify and implement the best hiring tools/platforms that will contribute to the development of our talent internally in a way that is consistent of our guiding principles (e.g. Always Be Learning).

    • ENGAGE: Have fun creating virtual and offline events for our global team that takes full advantage of remote work that keeps them happy and excited to hang out with their team members

    • RETAIN: Identify creative benefits for our team as we think about what people would value in remote work environments; continue to evolve pay philosophy to give people visibility on their performance and ensure people are rewarded for it

    • OFFBOARD: As the employee lifecycle runs its course, you’ll help make sure there’s a smooth transition so that alumni of our team reflect fondly on their time with us through the last day.
