Our client is looking to bring on an Equipment Manager who will provide direct leadership of cargo equipment.
*Working shifts fluctuate. Must be available to work weekends, days, nights and up to 12 hour shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Customer service, maintenance oversight, procurement assistance, backup management, vendor relations.
- Labor relations, contract knowledge, leadership, labor agreement proficiency.
- Requires expertise in equipment technology, terminology, and repair standards.
- Manages inventory, purchasing, and budgeting. Directs maintenance contractors, sets priorities, and approves expenditures.
- Develops preventive maintenance schedules and reduces downtime. Efficiently manages spare parts inventory.
- Proactively plans corrective maintenance, enhances equipment design, and aims to improve safety, reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical/electronic, mechanical, or mechatronic) with 7+ years of technical experience and 2+ years of management experience.
- Proficiency in handling equipment, safety, and working with union workforces.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office and database systems.
- Willingness to work outdoors, at heights, and during non-standard hours, occasional domestic/international travel, and experience in a 24/7 work environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Job location varies between indoor office settings and outdoor environments, including being in out the field exposing individuals to weather, noise, and hazardous materials.
- Physical requirements involve lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and operating company vehicles on various surfaces.
- Skills include maintaining balance on unstable surfaces, hearing, and driving in diverse conditions.
