JOB TITLE: Finish Room Sealer Sprayer
DEPARTMENT AREA: Finish Room
REPORTS TO: Finish Room Lead Person
SKILL SETS REQUIRED- USING SPRAY EQUIPMENT, UNDERSTANDING THE DIFFERENT SEALERS.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION – Apply sealers and white basecoat to products with spray guns.Clean and perform routine maintenance on spray equipment.
COMMONLY USED TOOLS & EQUIPMENT – Spray guns, spray pumps, pressure pots, manometer, wet mill gauge.
SPECIFIC DUTY AREAS –
Check spray equipment constantly to make sure that the proper air and fluid pressures are maintained based on the way the gun is spraying, (if the gun is not spraying correctly and the air pressure and fluid pressure is fluctuating), then you need to inform the pump room attendant.
Keep caps and tips of guns clean.
At the end of each day, clean tips and caps of each gun.
Replace booth filters when they become too clogged depending on the manometer reading
Keep area behind the filters clean in the booth.
Apply sealers and white basecoat to products with spray guns, making certain to provide proper coverage of all surfaces and edges for which responsible.
Make sure to apply vinyl sealers to crackle finishes.
Maintain a consistent build of 3 to 3 ½ wet mils per coat.
Ensure that all container lids are closed, no open containers – lacquer thinners, etc.
All liquid sealer and solvents used to clean out lines are to be placed in covered containers for hazardous waste disposal.
Inform the Department Leader of any ongoing quality or supply issues.
Inform the Department Leader of any non-routine maintenance or repairs needed on equipment.
Clean up work area at the end of each day and as needed.
Special projects and other duties as assigned.
