UNDERWRITING ASSISTANT FOR PROPERTY AND CASUALTY INSURANCE

 The Underwriting Assistant will assist the Underwriter in daily activities to evaluate account risks and exposures and maintain their book of business.

 Responsibilities:

• Assist assigned underwriter with organization of account pipeline and pre-underwrite accounts which includes, but not limited to:
• Account qualification
• Creation of modeling request files
• Account research
• Forms review
• Draft quotations
• Determine renewal risk acceptability, pricing, coverage, and terms and conditions
• Check all policy forms and endorsements prior to final issuance to the brokerage team
• Establish and manage relationships with assigned brokers and their teams
• Review inspections when they come in and take necessary actions

 Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 2-5 years of Commercial Property & Casualty Insurance required
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Self-starter and high level of motivation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in Catastrophe underwriting strongly preferred
