UNDERWRITING ASSISTANT FOR PROPERTY AND CASUALTY INSURANCE
The Underwriting Assistant will assist the Underwriter in daily activities to evaluate account risks and exposures and maintain their book of business.
Responsibilities:
- Assist assigned underwriter with organization of account pipeline and pre-underwrite accounts which includes, but not limited to:
- Account qualification
- Creation of modeling request files
- Account research
- Forms review
- Draft quotations
- Determine renewal risk acceptability, pricing, coverage, and terms and conditions
- Check all policy forms and endorsements prior to final issuance to the brokerage team
- Establish and manage relationships with assigned brokers and their teams
- Review inspections when they come in and take necessary actions
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2-5 years of Commercial Property & Casualty Insurance required
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Self-starter and high level of motivation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in Catastrophe underwriting strongly preferred
