  • Responsibilities

    A Birmingham-area financial institution is seeking an IT Specialist II for their company.  The individual will be responsible for the analysis of hardware configurations and interfaces as well as being primarily responsible for the administration and enhancement of all existing and new communications, data and information systems.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Will be responsible for responding to all internal and external support calls in a polite and efficient manner.  Will address issues promptly and accurately.
    • Will review hardware, software, enhancements, upgrades, vendors and trends, and will update the IT Department as needed.
    • Recommend and implement appropriate system changes, upgrades and optimal usage.
    • Assist with the development of long and short-term information system objectives, plans, and priorities.
    • Assist in the network management and infrastructure.
    • Provide systems documentation for upgrades, enhancements, installation, testing procedures, debugging and fixes.
    • Perform system modifications, installations, testing and debugging.
    • Interface with vendors and outside technical support personnel as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Associates Degree in a computer related field or equivalent work experience
    • Knowledge of virtual environments (VMWare ESXi 6.0 & VDI)
    • Microsoft certifications (MCP) preferred
    • Windows Server and Desktop Administration, including Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2008-2012
    • A+, NET+ certifications a plus
    • Microsoft Office Applications
    • Technical experience of installation and implementation of Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN)
    • Technical knowledge of hardware and software system modification/fix techniques
    • Technical knowledge of system back-up procedures
    • Ability to instruct users on new systems, system enhancements and system upgrades
