Project for Pride in Living, Inc. (PPL) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering low-income people to become self-reliant through integrated services. Job Summary:

Are you passionate about helping others achieve their career goals? PPL is seeking a Career Specialist to support participants and graduates of our Career Pathways programs. In this role, you’ll provide personalized job placement, career coaching, and long-term support to help individuals secure employment and advance in their careers. You’ll also collaborate with employer partners to connect graduates with real job opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following duties are normal for this position. These duties are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.

• Provide one-on-one job placement support to a caseload of 50–75 participants.
• Coach participants on resume writing, interviewing, and job search strategies.
• Facilitate in-person and virtual workshops to build job readiness skills.
• Partner with financial coaches to support participants’ financial goals.
• Connect graduates with employment and career advancement opportunities.
• Maintain accurate case notes and track outcomes in databases.
• Deliver at least 12 months of retention support to program graduates.
• Build and maintain relationships with employer partners to secure job placements and internships.
• Support curriculum development and coordinate guest speakers and schedules.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

What we are looking for:

• 1–2 years of experience in workforce development, human services, or a related field.
• BA/BS in Human Services, Sociology, Social Work, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong knowledge of local labor market trends and community resources.
• Excellent communication, time management, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Zoom, Teams, and online databases.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a good driving record.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, bend, and communicate. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds.
