    Our client, a prominent seafood importer and distributor, is currently seeking a highly skilled Facilities Maintenance Manager to join their dynamic team. This pivotal role focuses on coordinating, planning, and scheduling activities and projects related to the maintenance, alteration, and repair of equipment and buildings.

    The successful candidate will be an integral member of the HACCP Team, contributing to the facility’s food safety system requirements and ensuring compliance with established standards. This position offers the unique challenge of working in an environment with fresh and frozen seafood and shellfish, requiring a professional who can efficiently manage maintenance operations while adhering to safety and quality protocols.

    Facilities Maintenance Manager Job Responsibilities

    Oversee building and equipment maintenance staff, ensuring continuous production operations.

    Determine work priorities, including scheduling repairs, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment.

    Develop and maintain the department’s standard operating policies and procedures. Organize, maintain, and audit service logs for compliance.

    Implement new methods and procedures to improve operations, reduce costs, and optimize labor and materials usage.

    Ensure work areas and equipment are clean, orderly, and comply with safety regulations.

    Complete work orders and preventive maintenance tasks as necessary.

    Skillfully use and operate hand/power tools, and perform installations and emergency/unscheduled repairs.

    Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, and perform electrical, plumbing, equipment maintenance, fabrication, and diesel mechanic tasks as needed.

    Promote a safe work environment and adhere to company safety policies and procedures.

    Travel between locations for maintenance tasks.

    Directly manage the Maintenance Department, coordinating the duties of employees and collaborating with other department managers.

    Qualifications

    Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities, manufacturing, or maintenance management.

    Proficiency in using hand tools, electric tools, and operating related machinery with good hand-eye coordination.

    Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting skills.

    Extensive knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.

    Effective communication skills, capable of addressing inquiries or complaints from employees and management.

    Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.

    Experience with refrigeration systems is highly desirable.
