    Who are we looking for?

    We are looking for an experienced software engineer to join CareerPlug’s tight-knit and highly productive Product team. We take pride in our lean, efficient approach to product design and software development and we value high-level contributions from every member of our team. The right candidate will be motivated by the challenge of writing clean, maintainable code in Ruby and JavaScript to build and maintain mature, complex and constantly growing software products.

    We have 2 mature, complex and well-maintained Ruby on Rails apps. Our developers work full-stack, building new features from scratch, and balance their work on new features with bug fixes, innovation projects, and infrastructure improvements. This is an opportunity to make significant contributions to a high-growth product and directly influence the growth and future direction of CareerPlug's software.

    What technologies do we use?

    Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, Docker, AWS Elastic Beanstalk

    Job Requirements:

    The right candidate will have a solid technical background in the fundamentals of web development, with 3 years experience building and maintaining SaaS products in a production environment, with a strong preference for candidates who have a experience building and maintaining large production applications in Ruby on Rails. In addition, the right candidate will possess the following attributes:

    Compensation: $140K, including bonus

    Remote: This is fully US-based remote role with travel included to Austin, TX (once it is safe to do, travel has been suspended for 2020). A note on COVID-19 & Remote Work: As of March 2020, our Austin-based team has been working fully remote. We have no plans to be back in a physical office anytime soon and are currently planning on becoming a Remote First company with a reduced office space in Austin. About 10% of our total workforce was already full-time remote pre-COVID, with 50% of our engineering team successfully working out of state.
