    Who are we looking for?

    We are looking for an experienced site reliability engineer (SRE) to use their background in software development and infrastructure management to help improve the current systems in place, as well as help develop new systems.You will spend a large portion of your time in the codebase working as a software engineer. Working on performance improvements, architectural changes, and any supporting tooling needed to help in the effort to develop our applications more stably, scaleable, securely, and reliably.

    You will use telemetry to create feedback loops to help provide insights into the performance and health of CareerPlugs infrastructure. As well as helping ensure that we are able to be proactive in responding to any anomaly that may occur.

    You will create new, and retrofit current, "infrastructure as code". Leveraging version control to provide more transparency into changes being made to any of CareerPlugs systems. Helping automate as many processes as possible in an effort to reduce human error and ensure more predictability in our systems and infrastructure.

    You will be security-minded. Helping build out automated security feature suites to validate and test the security of CareerPlugs application code through our deployment pipelines.

    You will work in a DevOps-friendly environment. You will be embedded in the process from conception to deployment, ensuring that any issues surrounding the stability, scalability, security, and reliability of CareerPlugs platforms are detected early in the process to allow any changes to be worked on in conjunction with development.

    What technologies do we use?

    Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, Docker, AWSResponsibilities:

    Use telemetry to automate the process of monitoring critical systems

    Help build and optimize our code pipelines

    Create and monitor automated performance test

    Create and adjust SLO’s

    Audit current infrastructure and ensure that we’re using the correct instances for our current application load

    Collaborate with the team to innovate and fine-tune our current engineering processes to ensure the success of the Engineering team

    Job Requirements:

    Background in software development and infrastructure management

    DevOps minded

    Security-focused

    Ruby on Rails expertise and AWS experience preferred

    Strong sense of automation and deployment tools

    Kind and collaborative

    Not afraid to get into the codebase and spend time as an engineer

    Process-oriented and helps hold the team accountable to them

    Compensation: This role pays $150,000 in base salary with an additional $10,000 in annual bonus potential.
