Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced Director of Engineering to lead CareerPlug’s tight-knit and highly productive Engineering team. We take pride in our lean, efficient approach to product design and software development and we value high-level contributions from every member of our team. The right candidate will be motivated to lead and mentor our team of software engineers who are challenged to write clean, maintainable code in Ruby and Javascript in order to build and maintain mature, complex and constantly growing software products.
We have 2 mature, complex and well-maintained Ruby on Rails apps. Our developers work full-stack, building new features from scratch, and balance their work on new features with bug fixes, innovation projects, and infrastructure improvements. This is an opportunity to make significant contributions to a high-growth product and directly influence the growth and future direction of CareerPlug's software.

Job Responsibilities:
Own stability of CareerPlug's software products, monitoring performance, eliminating bugs, and resolving infrastructure or software outages
Coach and manage engineering team members, including conducting one-on-one meetings and working with individuals to set and achieve growth goals
Create a culture of growth and learning on the Engineering team
Distribute work to engineers to ensure on-time delivery of product releases and attainment of CareerPlug's bug fix SLA standards
Collaborate with Product team to establish and deliver product roadmap with timely, safe product releases
Ensure CareerPlug software products meet system performance metrics
Work with Senior Director to set, create, and monitor engineering budgets (software, infrastructure, staffing)
Job Requirements:
Previous experience leading an Engineering team
Prior success as a Software Engineer
Understanding of relevant technologies
Servant leader with proven ability to coach developers
Excited to be part of a small, highly productive team
Compensation: On-Target Earnings of $170K including bonus potential, based on experience
