The Home Health Aide (HHA) / PCA provides clients various personal care and homemaker/companion services in accordance with an established plan of care so that they can remain in their residence.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
High school graduate or G.E.D certificate
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
Possess a valid driver's license and have use of an insured automobile or access to adequate transportation for the job
Must be at least 18 years old
You must have some experience with autistic children who are not high functioning
Responsibilities
Monday Through Friday from 2PM to 9PM
Assist with toileting, bathing, grooming, doing some of his laundry, cleaning messes, preparing meals and cleaning it after school, assistance with meal preparation, and some transferring depending on frequent behavioral issues
Requires constant supervision and care
She is hearing impaired and wears aids in both ears
She is mostly non verbal but is able to communicate using some words, sign language pointing and pictures. Speech and OT therapy come to the residence each week
She is incontinent but we do potty training around every 30 mins to an hour for consistency and repetition
She rides the bus to school and potential caregiver would need to be at residence with valid identification to receive client from the bus
You must have some experience with autistic children who are not high functioning.
The home does have a dog - cane corso so the family would request the caregiver be comfortable with large dogs
Must be:
• Willing to keep client active
• Good at communicating
• Have driver's license and car
