Assisting Hands Home Care – Merrillville is now hiring Caregivers, Home Health Aides (HHA), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Personal Care Aides (PCA), Direct Support Professionals (DSP), and Home Care Assistants to provide non-medical home care to seniors and adults in Merrillville, Crown Point, Valparaiso, Portage, Hobart, Chesterton, and across Lake & Porter Counties.

🏡 Caregiver Job Duties

Caregivers will provide:

Personal care (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, transfers)

Companionship and emotional support

Meal preparation and light housekeeping

Laundry, bed changes, and home organization

Medication reminders (no medication administration)

Mobility and ambulation assistance (walker, wheelchair)

Observing and reporting changes in condition

Using a mobile app for clock-in/out and care notes

Following safety and infection control procedures

✅ Caregiver Requirements

High school diploma or GED

Preferred: 1 year of experience (Caregiver, HHA, CNA, PCA, DSP, or facility experience)

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance

Able to pass a national background check

Current TB test and CPR certification (or willing to obtain)

Dependable, patient, compassionate, and professional

Comfortable using a smartphone for timekeeping and communication
