McKenney Home Care is a family-owned, private-duty home care agency serving Sarasota and Charlotte County for over a decade. We are seeking dependable, compassionate caregivers who are committed to providing high-quality, one-on-one care in the home. Caregivers of all experience levels are welcome to apply.

Flexible Scheduling

We offer a variety of shift options to fit your availability, examples:

Morning shifts: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM, 10:00 AM–2:00 PM

Short or split shifts: 2–3 hours (AM or PM)

Standard shifts: 4–6 hours

Extended shifts: 7–12 hours (day or overnight)

12-hour day and overnight shifts are widely available

Private duty schedules vary based on client needs, allowing for both flexibility and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one care that helps clients feel safe, comfortable, and supported in their own homes

Build meaningful relationships through companionship, conversation, and emotional support

Assist with daily routines such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and safe mobility

Prepare meals and encourage proper nutrition and hydration

Support clients with memory care needs, including those with dementia

Maintain a clean and comfortable environment with light housekeeping and laundry

Provide medication reminders (no administration required)

Observe and report any changes in client condition to the office

Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner

Communicate proactively with the office and care team regarding schedule or client updates

Qualifications

Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation

Second form of ID (Social Security card or passport)

Hands-on CPR certification (or willingness to obtain; class available through our office $50)

Skin or Lab work TB test within the last 6 months or chest X-ray within the last 5 years

Level 2 AHCA background screening (or willingness to complete) https://info.flclearinghouse.com

Strong communication skills, professionalism, and consistent reliability and attendance
