We are looking for an experienced individual to fill the role of Direct Support Specialist. The right candidate will be responsible for providing compassionate care and assistance to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Direct Support Specialist (DSSs) are people who work directly with people with physical disabilities and/or intellectual disabilities with the aim of assisting the individual to become integrated into his/her community or the least restrictive environment.
Job Summary
We are seeking a Caregiver to join our team. In this role, you will make a difference in the lives of our clients and people with developmental disabilities by enhancing their quality of life. Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene needs, light housekeeping and errands, dispensing medication(CMT), and other tasks that improve the client’s living environment and standards. The ideal candidate is patient, compassionate, and reliable.
Responsibilities
Assist clients with their daily living, for safety and comfort, following infection control protocols.
Comfortably assist clients with their hygiene support needs and provide personal care.
Assist with home management tasks and Community Integration such as movies, amusement park, Library, meals prep, grocery shopping, cleaning, personal hygiene.
Provide assistance to clients with basic tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming and eating.
Assist with mobility, walking, and physical therapy exercises
Update resident case notes on a daily basis.
Compassionate about the care and well-being of others.
Preparing and administering medications through various routes, such as oral, topical, and inhalation, and documenting these actions accurately.
Accurately and promptly documenting client’s information, vital signs, and medication administration in medical records.
Performs other related duties
