Job Summary
We are seeking a Caregiver (also known as Direct Support Professional or DSP) to join our team. In this role, you will make a difference in the lives of adults and seniors with disabilities by enhancing their quality of life. Responsibilities include assisting and/or teaching resident how to manage their hygiene needs, light housekeeping and errands, dispensing medication, and other tasks that improve the resident's living environment and standards. The ideal candidate is person-centered, patient, compassionate, and reliable.
Responsibilities
Assist and/or teach resident how to perform their personal hygiene needs and dressing
Assist with mobility, walking, and physical therapy exercises
Assist and/or teach resident how to prepare their own meals and snacks
Assist and/or teach resident light housekeeping activities based on their plan of care
Dispense medication
Provide and/or teach resident socialization skills
Assist and/or teach resident planning for meals, community activities, and in-home activities
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Caregiver, Home Health Aide, or similar role is preferred but not required
First aid and CPR-certified
Knowledge of basic housekeeping tasks and cooking skills
Ability to adhere to all health and safety guidelines
Excellent communication and interpersonal spills
Ability to lift heavy objects
Compassionate, respectful, ethical, person-centered
High school diploma or GED certificate
Must be at least 18 years of age
