What we need
Attain the highest level of customer relations, expedite the processing of prescriptions and help to maintain the non-prescription aspects of the Pharmacy department with the essential functions listed below:
- Fills/stocks medications in various automated devices
- Operates various types of pharmacy automation, including, but not limited to, TCGRx Machines, Coreflex WMS, Baker Cells; repacking equipment; electronic counters and scales
- Retrieve appropriate medication(s) from stock
- Count tablets/capsules or pour liquids in appropriate quantities
- Place medications in appropriate container(s)
- Type, print and affix prescription labels
- Process all filing, accounting, and bookkeeping functions as deemed necessary by the Pharmacy Manager and company accounting Manager
- Carry out daily housekeeping, cleanliness, sanitation and recycling programs as established within company guidelines
- Maintain records related to the practice of Pharmacy
- Assist the pharmacist by reordering items for both prescription and over-the-counter departments, ordering new items as needed and shorted and backordered items. Communicate with the pharmacist and /or customer about item availability, when necessary
- Restocking and reordering supplies when necessary. Supplies may include vials, bags, printer labels and paper
- Affix appropriate auxiliary labels
- Receive drug order from wholesaler. sticker items and restock shelves, determine that ordered items were shipped, determine that shipped items are the same as the invoiced items, and report shorts to wholesaler for credit and backordered items to pharmacist per department policy
- Check inventory for appropriate “shelf life” remaining before expiration, pull expired or nearly expired items, catalog expired items, and return items to appropriate company for credit
- Checking in inventory received from wholesaler
- Participate in training other fulfillment technicians, as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
Who you are
- 1+ years of pharmacy technician experience preferred in long term care pharmacy, retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy or mail pharmacy delivery
- Individual must have a high school diploma or GED
- Individual may not be on the government exclusion lists as determined by the Office of Inspector General (OIG) and System for Award Management (SAM)
- Maintain High Level of Customer relations
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, consistent with company standards
- The Pharmacy Technician needs to be organized to initiate the necessary procedures to start the process of filling the prescription.
- Must be and remain in compliance with the standards and regulations of the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board/Tennessee Board of Pharmacy
REGISTRATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
- Individual must be eligible to be registered as a pharmacy technician license with the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy
