REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
Minimum 1 experience in optical or capital equipment sales
High level of ophthalmic equipment product knowledge preferred
Effective consultative, conceptual and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to establish influential relationship with customers
General understanding of anatomy, physiology and pathology of the eye
Working knowledge of refractometry preferred
Sales, medical, ophthalmic or industry related training experience preferred
Develop expertise in product application and practice management implications
Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills
Self-starter with the ability to work independently
Strong organizational, presentation and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Safely operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid motor vehicle license
Ability to thrive in a competitive environment
Must be able to travel at least 80% of the time and occasionally work weekends
Ability to work independently and perform with little or no supervision
Basic computer/instrumentation networking preferred
Experience in a vision care setting preferred
JOB CONDITIONS/COMPLEXITY:
A significant part of every day is spent driving a vehicle.
Works on assignments that are complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations. Normally receives no instructions on routine work, general instructions on new assignments.
