The intern will work closely with the design team to support the development and execution of high-end interior design projects. The ideal candidate is a highly talented and motivated individual with a strong sense of beauty and passion for design, a strong work ethic, and excellent communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities :
- Assist with the design and development of interior design concepts, including research and sourcing of materials and finishes
- Create presentation materials such as floor plans, elevations, and renderings using design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Maintain the design library and keep current with industry trends and new products
- Grow our Material Library: Research, file & sort materials, contact Vendors for samples, catalog samples and create a digital library
- Prepare client meetings including hard copy plots, printouts, mood boards, etc.
- Collaborate on detailed drawings and construction documents, including bathrooms, kitchens, bars, closets, etc.
- Assist with detailing technical drawings, e.g. add quotes, measurements on sections, and design details
- Assist with Marketing tasks such as submittals, press kits, etc.
- Attend client meetings and assist with project management tasks such as project timelines, budgets, and communication with vendors and contractors
- Participate in site visits to observe and document construction progress and ensure that designs are being implemented according to specifications
Qualifications :
- Currently enrolled in an accredited interior design program or related field
- Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of materials, finishes, and furnishings commonly used in high-end interior design projects
- Extreme curiosity and Interest in learning about all aspects of the interior design business
This is a full-time internship with a minimum commitment of 3-6 months. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
