The Carlsbad Educational Foundation's SOAR (Students Obtaining Academics and Recreation) program is looking to hire an enthusiastic, responsible, and reliable childcare teacher to work with 6th-8th grade students in an after-school setting.

The Carlsbad Educational Foundation takes pride in providing a safe and fun place where we can make an impact in the lives of middle school students. Duties will include, but are not limited to, direct supervision of children, behavior management and conflict resolution, basic homework assistance, as well as creating and leading fun and enriching curriculum such as arts/crafts, inside/outside games, and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) lessons. 

This position requires a minimum of 2 years experience working in a childcare program, 12 units in early childhood education (ECE), a current certification in CPR and First Aid, and 3 units in a Childcare Administration Course or willing to enroll in an Administration Course. General education units in a related field may be used in substitution for the 12 ECE units required to be a childcare teacher. Experience with middle school students is preferred. 

Hours for this position are MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, AND FRIDAY 1:00PM-6:00PM, AND THURSDAY'S 12:30-6:00 PM. 

Compensation is $16.00 per hour. 

Though we are on the campuses of the Carlsbad Unified School District, we are an independent organization.
