  • Responsibilities

    Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative (SMECO) has an immediate opening for an Administrative Services Supervisor in its External Affairs department. The primary functions of this position are to provide administrative support to the various divisions within the External Affairs department to include community and school programs, internal and external communications, assisting during crisis situations, and disseminating sensitive information to the public, media, government agencies and public officials. The position also provides back-up support to the Legal Administrator, as well as the Executive Assistant to the President and CEO.

    This position requires a candidate with a strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, the ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining a high quality of work, and the ability to work in a diverse environment while coordinating activities with department staff and across the organization. Maintaining the integrity of sensitive/confidential information is critical.

    This position requires a two-year college degree or equivalent experience with emphasis in business administration, communications, public affairs, or other job related field.  Business administration and management training is preferred.  Candidate must have two or more years of progressive experience in business administration, communications, or public affairs with strong organizational skills.

    The starting salary range for this position is $57,800-$72,200.  SMECO offers an excellent benefits program including a 401(k) 6% dollar for dollar match and additional 3% non-elective company contribution.

    Required Skills
